One of the winning smiles
Hi and welcome to River Images, the photographic record of our trips on around and about the Cornish rivers...
We regularly travel the rivers looking for wildlife and images of interest whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery and Peace and tranquility that a day or weekend on the river can bring.
We are lucky enough to be living in such a beautiful part of our country and the rivers in particular are a source of so much beautiful imagery, that we decided to put together 'River Images' to share these fantastic places and our images with you.
You will more than likely see us if you visit or are out on the river in your own or hire boats, crossing the rivers by ferries or even walking the shoreline. We are often out in our 3mtr rib slowly cruising the rivers in search of images.
Our Candid images of people out on the river have become quite a favourite both of ours and of our visitors so if you see us on the rivers, give us a little wave and who knows you may well find yourselves here in our galleries..
We're always happy to run alongside you and photograph your boats or if you're in one of the many sailing Dinghies enjoying a race or just pleasure sailing we will try to get some good images of you for your own portfolio's or personal use.
So give us a shout, or a wave out on the river, come up and say hello if you see us and if you'd like one of our car stickers just drop us an email or catch us at our van 'The Splashbus' and we'll be happy to send or give you one.
Enjoy our website and our images and if you'd like to support the site by purchasing one of our images you can do so from the galleries... Thank you for dropping by

Tuesday 12th July 2011 ..........................................Gweek to Helford (frenchmans' Creek) and back
What a beautiful afternoon and evening it was today as we went from Gweek down the river to Helford.
Surprisingly and Pleasingly Leanne joined me on the cruise down and back up to Gweek which at 9months and 4 days pregnant is some feat... Not as much wildlife around as I would have like but we did manage to see Curlew Egret Shelduck Heron Greenshank Redshank and a possible common sandpiper though I lost him and only managed a blurry image as he flew by.
Managed a few minutes stop off to chat to Kate and Maisie (who was too shy to come to us) at Bishop's Quay. and arrived back just as we ran out of water so we pulled the dinghy out at Gweek Quay Boatyard as there wasn't enough to get into the creek.

An Abundance of wildlife on the Helford River.. seen here opposite Bishop's Quay
Whilst everywhere else we've visited recently seems to be suffering a distinct lack of wildlife with all these high winds we've been having, in less than 10 minutes out of Gweek in our R.I.B. we saw 3 pairs of Shelduck with chicks.. 1 pair of Mute Swans with 5 sygnets, Herons, Egrets, curlew, whimbrel, redshank, swallows, house martins, and topped the whole trip off with 3 dolphins circling us in the river.
In fact in less than 2 hours out (due to the tidal reach) we found more wildlife than we'd seen in one place in Months.
This was all between Roundwood Quay and Gweek.
For those who'd like to spend some time in this area there's a beautiful Family Holiday House right in the heart of it on Bishop's Quay.. Contact Ben & Kate for more details at BishopsQuay.com .
The above picture showing Curlew Egrets and Heron all on one clump of grass at the edge of the river is directly opposite Bishop's Quay.
