Hi Everyone and thank you for taking time to look through my blog.. I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all so you know who I am and can hopefully send a wave or a smile as we pass on the rivers of Cornwall, especially my favourite the Helford River.
I was born in Leeds many moons ago, and grew up with photography as my father was a photographer and taught me from a very early age about camera’s photography and printing and developing..However in this day and age of Digital everything life has become much easier and its unfortunate that my father lost his battle to cancer around the time i bought my first Digital camera and never really had the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of unlimited shooting.
I moved to make myself a New life in Cornwall 15 years ago now and found not only a new life but a wonderful wife with whom I share every day.
Unfortunately I was bitten by a spider some 5 years ago now which triggered of Rheumatoid Arthritis which severely debilitated me and left me unable to walk, or even function in almost any way and I became totally dependant on my lovely wife for everything.
Thanks to the miracle of modern Drugs I am now back on my feet and once again able to enjoy my photography and life in general again albeit most days my photography is used as diversion therapy, to divert my mind away from the pain of RA, and I spend whatever time my illness allows capturing images to relive the moments on the less healthy days when I’m unable to get out.
I’ve always had a great love of the Sea and rivers or water in general and recently bought an inflatable tender and small engine that allows us to travel around the wonderful creeks exploring and photographing the wonderful wildlife, scenery and people living and working on the rivers.
With all of this in my mind I found and registered Riverimages.co.uk as a place to share my photographs for all who may wish to see and hopefully enjoy them.
Of course not everyone would enjoy being photographed going about their business and for this reason I always try to let people know that if they should find any of my images upsetting or be offended by them then I would instantly remove them from my site.. I would never intentionally show images that would cause any offence in any case but my rule of thumb is always to remove anything that upsets anyone.
I would hope that all of my photography would bring joy and pleasure to those who view it.
I sincerely hope you do enjoy the images and feel free to comment on any that you find pleasing.. Hearing that people enjoy the photographs andtake the time to comment on them inspires me greatly.
Thank you for taking the time to look, I hope you find some images pleasing and perhaps enough to purchase the odd one to help with the site costs.

Mel
